Phantom Pilot dropped live turkeys from a low flying plane

YELLVILLE, Ark. - For the first time in eight years, a Phantom Pilot dropped live turkeys from a low flying plane for the Turkey Trot Festival in Yellville, Ark.,

Report state that three turkeys were dropped out of a plane between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 10 as part of an annual festival that has been held in Yellville, Ark for the past 70 years.

According to The Baxter Bulletin, the turkey drop was as an act of defiance towards the Federal Aviation Administration and PETA after they threatened the organizers with consequences. The FAA warned that if the proceeded with dropping turkeys out of a plane, that it could result in prosecution and jail time. PETA reportedly offered a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the Phantom Pilot.
